AD 1.2 — Rescue and Firefighting Services
1.2.1 RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING SERVICES
Adequate rescue and firefighting vehicles, equipment, and personnel have been provided at all certified aerodromes. The scale of protection has been determined in accordance with the standards and recommended practices in Chapter 9 of ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1, and the guidance in Attachment A to Annex 14, and is indicated in terms of each certified aerodrome in AD 2. The number of trained personnel available is determined by the Aerodrome Operator in consultation with the CAA. Each rescue and firefighting unit is operated by the Aerodrome Operator. Full service on a 24-hour basis.
1.2.2 SNOWPLAN
The following snow plan is published for Syrian airports at which snow conditions might occur.
Responsibility
The Airport Authority at each aerodrome in Coordination with ground operations are responsible for measuring, improving and reporting pavement conditions .
Clearance Priorities
The following priorities have been established for the clearance of movement areas:
a- Runway in use.
b- Run-up area.
c- Aprons and Taxiways.
The clearance of Taxiways pressing gradient difficulties is given priority over clearance of Run-up areas.
No chemicals are used. Braking action reported by Pilots of landing aircraft is repeated by ATC to successively
landing aircraft.
