Civil Aviation Authority
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of the Syrian Arab Republic is the sole authority responsible for civil aviation matters, including:
- Air navigation services
- Airspace management
- Aerodrome regulation and certification
- Aircraft registration and airworthiness
- Personnel licensing and training
- Aviation security
- Aviation safety oversight

Aeronautical Information Services (AIS)
The AIS Division of GACA is responsible for the collection, collation, editing, formatting, and publishing of aeronautical information/data in accordance with ICAO Annex 15, including:
- AIP and AIP Amendments (AIRAC and non-AIRAC)
- AIP Supplements
- Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC)
- NOTAMs (Series A — International, Series C — Domestic)
- Pre-Flight Information Bulletins (PIB)
- Checklists and Summaries
ATS Authority
Air Traffic Services within the Damascus FIR (OSTT) are provided by the ATS Division of GACA. The Damascus Area Control Centre (ACC) provides area control, approach control, and aerodrome control services at designated aerodromes.
